What is this?

Oval shape on three piereced legs and ball feet; cast ornamental border in leaf design.

This is a pair of waiters from United States. It is dated 1810–20 and we acquired it in 1926. Bequest of Mrs. John Innes Kane. This object is currently resting in our storage facility ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

It has the following markings

On underside: "B. Gardiner" (Baldwin Gardiner, Philadelphia (1810-20)) and three pseudo hallmarks: head, "G", and lion passant (walking right). in rectangular reserves. (a) marked "B . GARDINER"; (b) marked "EB . GARDINER"
