Pleated Fan

This is a Pleated fan. It was after Antoine Watteau. It is dated ca. 1740 and we acquired it in 1952. Its medium is parchment leaf painted in watercolor, carved and pierced mother-of-pearl sticks with gold foil and applied straw decoration . It is a part of the Textiles department.
