Hanging

This is a Hanging. It is dated early 20th century and we acquired it in 1969. Its medium is silk and metal-wrapped silk embroidery on cotton; several kinds of metallic thread used and its technique is embroidered in stem, split, knotted and couching stitches on plain weave. embroidered through two layers of fabric. It is a part of the Textiles department.
