This is a Bag. It is dated early 17th century and we acquired it in 1971. Its medium is silk and metal-wrapped silk on linen and its technique is embroidery using cross, half-cross, back and eyelet stitches in silk; buttonhole, plaited braid, looping and knotted stitches using metal-wrapped silk on plain weave. It is a part of the Textiles department.
