This is a Kemben (breast cloth). It is dated 1900–1950 and we acquired it in 1972. Its medium is cotton and its technique is tied resist patterning in weft (ikat) on plain weave with continuous supplementary weft patterning. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was bequest of Estate of Julian Clarence Levi.
