Textile (USA)

This is a Textile. It was designed by Dorothy Wright Liebes and woven by Dorothy Wright Liebes. It is dated 1935–37 and we acquired it in 1972. Its medium is cotton, silk, viscose rayon, wool and its technique is hand woven 2/2 twill with bands of complementary weft patterning; the floats of the complementary weft are attached to the back by a supplementary warp. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was donated by Estate of Dorothy Liebes Morin. It is credited Gift of the Estate of Dorothy Liebes Morin.
