Lamp (France)

This is a lamp. It was designed by Edgar Brandt. It is dated ca. 1925 and we acquired it in 1975. Its medium is bronze, alabaster. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

It is credited Gift of Stanley Siegel, from the Stanley Siegel Collection.

Wrought iron rectilinear door with carved and pierced flowers, leaves and vines. The designs have reference to Persian manuscript sources as well as contemporary textile designs of the 1920’s. The later addition of feet made it able to stand-alone.
