Calling Card Matchsafe

This is a matchsafe. It was manufactured by Sampson Mordan & Company. It is dated 1901–02 and we acquired it in 1978. Its medium is silver, enamel. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

It has the following markings

S.M.& Co., lion passant, leopard's head, date letter "f" all stamped on right, long side, same marks stamped on underside of lid, except leopard's head.
