Fragments (France), 1750–99

This is a Fragments. It is dated 1750–99 and we acquired it in 1978. Its medium is silk and its technique is cut loops of supplementary warps in a 3/1 twill foundation plus a continuous supplementary weft (velvet). It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was donated by Mrs. Howard J. Sachs and Peter G. Sachs. It is credited Gift of Mrs. Howard J. Sachs and Mr. Peter G. Sachs in memory of Miss Edith L. Sachs.
