Sampler (Mexico)

This is a Sampler. It was embroidered by Benita Hernandes. It is dated 19th century and we acquired it in 1941. Its medium is cotton embroidery on linen foundation and its technique is drawnwork stitches, whipped bars, aztec, loop, counted satin, cross, and double running stitches on plain weave. It is a part of the Textiles department.
