Embroidered Picture (England)

This is a Embroidered picture. It is dated 17th century and we acquired it in 1981. Its medium is silk, metal-wrapped silk, and silk-wrapped metal embroidery on silk foundation, mica and its technique is embroidered in satin, stem, couching, and needlelace (looping, and loop and twist) stitches on 7&1 satin foundation. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was bequest of Gertrude M. Oppenheimer. It is credited Bequest of Gertrude M. Oppenheimer.
