Sampler

This is a Sampler. It was embroidered by Elizabeth Silk. It is dated October 25, 1741 and we acquired it in 1981. Its medium is silk embroidery on linen foundation and its technique is embroidered in satin, cross, eyelet, roumanian, stem, long armed cross, herring bone, rococo, double running and detached looping stitches on plain weave foundation. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was bequest of Gertrude M. Oppenheimer. It is credited Bequest of Gertrude M. Oppenheimer.
