Signature Collection: Picnic Flatware Spoon

This is a spoon. It is dated 1985 and we acquired it in 1986. Its medium is anodized aluminum. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

Tisdale gained acclaim for this flatware with its geometric outlines and rainbow colors, winning the Pantone Color Award in 1988. Color, in the form of metal salts, is deposited in the pores of the anodized metal by passing an electric current through the dye bath.

It is credited Museum purchase from Eleanor G. Hewitt Fund.

Its dimensions are

L x W x D: 16.7 x 4.1 x 1 cm (6 9/16 x 1 5/8 x 3/8 in.)

It has the following markings

Engraved in script on the handle: "David Tisdale c. 1986"
