Pleated Fan (probably France)

This is a Pleated fan. It was designed by A. Lauronce and created by A. Lauronce. It is dated ca. 1875 and we acquired it in 1996. Its medium is chromolithograph on silk leaf backed with stiffened cotton, drilled and carved mother-of-pearl sticks, metal bail, silk tassel, mother-of-pearl washer at the rivet. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was donated by Dr. Luigia Norsa and Bruna Taranta. It is credited Gift of Luigia Norsa and Bruna Taranta.
