Poster, Schützt das Kind! (Protect the Child!)

This is a Poster. It was designed by Josef Müller-Brockmann and photographed by Ernst A. Heiniger and printed by Lithographie & Cartonnage A.G.. It is dated 1953 and we acquired it in 1999. Its medium is offset lithograph on wove paper, lined. It is a part of the Drawings, Prints, and Graphic Design department.

The careening car in Müller-Brockmann’s 1953 poster, Schützt das Kind! (Protect the Child!), is too big to fit within the frame of the poster. It rushes toward the fleeing pedestrian, its enormous size creating a palpable sense of speed and danger.

It is credited Museum purchase from General Acquisitions Endowment Fund.
