It has the following markings

On blade (a): "Gorham Manufacturing Co." On base of handle/hollow, stamped (a,b,c): Gorham trademark, "H" (heavy weight), "4", a bell-like symbol representing 1900. On underside of boar's head terminal or finial, stamped (a,b,c,d,e): symbol for Sterling. On hinged rest, stamped (c,d): "PAT.JUL.13.80."/"MAY 29 83".
