Drawing, Preparatory Drawings for Thermostat

This is a Drawing. It was designed by John Benjamin Filson and manufactured by Nest Labs, Inc.. It is dated December 16, 2010 and we acquired it in 2014. Its medium is black ink on paper. It is a part of the Drawings, Prints, and Graphic Design department.

The Nest Learning Thermostat has been called the “iPod of thermostats”—perhaps because its creators, alumni of Apple, were leaders in creating the iPod and early iPhones. The thermostat may do for home energy what the iPod did for portable music-playing: revolutionize it. The first two generations of the Nest Learning Thermostat were acquired by Cooper-Hewitt in 2013.

This object was donated by Nest Labs, Inc.. It is credited Gift of Nest Labs, Inc..

Its dimensions are

H x W: 14.8 x 10.5 cm (5 13/16 x 4 1/8 in.)
