Donald A. Ingber is a cell biologist and bioengineer, and a founder of the emerging field of biologically inspired engineering. He simultaneously received his MD and PhD from Yale University in 1984. He holds numerous academic appointments and is the founding director of Harvard University’s Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering. Ingber is interested in how cell structure and mechanics impact cellular biochemistry and tissue development.
