Founded by Yasha Heifetz in 1938, the New York-based Heifetz Manufacturing Company specialized in table lamps and also manufactured ashtrays, sculptural objects in wood and metal, and some furniture. The company produced approximately 4,000 pieces in its more than twenty-five year lifespan; Yasha Heifetz claimed to have designed about half of them. The founder developed new glazing methods for textured ceramic bases and received several patents for furniture designs.
