A concaved heart-shape chair upholstered in bright, cherry-red woven wool. A roung cushion of the same color and material rests on the seat. The wings of the chair form an inverted cone shape meeting at the horizontal x-form steel base on which it is mounted.

Boxy leather club chair with large, simple rectangular sides and thick square cushion. Stylistically plain but sumptuous, its rich tan leather has an orange tinge, described as sienna. The bulky base of the chair rests on short, tapered woodblock feet.

Bent chromium-plated tubular steel serves as the frame of this chair. The seat and back are fabric covered elastic bands, similar to bungee cords. Each is wrapped at either end with wire which then is formed into a hook. Each hook allows it to attach into a hole drilled in the frame to accommodate it.

An armchair. Both of its feet and arms consist of two large, light brown wooden squares. The square assumes the role of 'base' and 'arm' on either side. In between the two wooden squares are a seat and back, connected by black metal rods. The seat and back are both covered in black cloth. The seat is square shaped and the back is rectangular.

A stream lined leather chair with a rectilinear high back and a U shaped seat with a stretcher. The arms are three layers of open bentwood tubes that connect at the front seat and attach to the bottom of the bentwood stretcher of the chair. There are nailheads surrounding the rim of the chair. The front legs are straight while the back legs splay to the rear. The stretcher is connected by a horizontal tube of wood toward the front of the chair. The dimensions are 40 and 1/2 inches tall, 21 1/2 wide. The seat is 18 inches in height.

A pear wood and leather art nouveau high backed side chair from the dining room of the Hotel Guimard. This chair is designed with a pear wood high curved backpanel that rounds off at its ends with irregular open shaped “handles” that maintain an abstracted motif that reference the movements and processes of nature. The handles are embellshed with tiny arabesque carvings. Below the wooden panel is a an attenuated pear like shaped designed leather upholstered back which is outlined in brass beading in oval and rounded shapes. On either side are slightly open slats that attach to the back of the seat. The seat is leather and also surrounded with brass beading at the edging. There is a small curved wooden apron and the legs are splay out and end with feet that are adorned with vegetal designs. The seat is of a mustard brown color and it shows much wear. This chair was part of a room that was designed in a most comprehensive expression of art nouveau.

A bent birch plywood arm chair designed by Alvar Aalto for the Paimio Sanitorium. A one-piece curved bent birch plywood scroll-shaped seat is suspended in its own frame composed of ribbon-like, curved, laminated bent birch elements which form sinuous legs/arms in a trapezium shape.
