Sampler (USA), 1800–1830

This is a Sampler. It was embroidered by Margereta Whann, American. We acquired it in 1970. Its medium is silk embroidery on linen foundation and its technique is embroidered in satin, stem, chain and cross stitches on plain weave foundation. It is a part of the Textiles department.
