Chintz Fragments (India), mid-18th century

This is a Chintz fragments. It is dated mid-18th century and we acquired it in 1973. Its medium is cotton and its technique is mordants for 2 reds, 2 purples and black applied over resist by brush and pen; madder dyed; blue applied by immersion over resist; yellow applied by brush; chintz on plain weave. It is a part of the Textiles department.
