Kimono (Japan), 19th century

This is a Kimono. It is dated 19th century and we acquired it in 1941. Its medium is silk and gilded paper thread embroidery on cotton foundation and its technique is stencil-printed and embroidered in satin and couching stitches. It is a part of the Textiles Department department.
