Sampler (Scotland), 1799

This is a Sampler. It was embroidered by Ann Ritchie. It is dated 1799 and we acquired it in 1981. Its medium is silk embroidery on wool foundation and its technique is embroidered in cross, stem, satin, eyelet, long-armed cross, and running stitches on plain weave foundation. It is a part of the Textiles department.
