Hoody Dress, Hoody Dress

This is a Hoody dress. It was designed by Sarah Elenany and made for The Scout Association.

This object is not part of the Cooper Hewitt's permanent collection. It was able to spend time at the museum on loan from Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco as part of Contemporary Muslim Fashions.

Its medium is digitally printed cotton jersey.

In 2012, Sarah Elenany collaborated with the Scout Association to create a modest uniform for their 2,000 Muslim Scouts. With input from current members, Elenany designed long tops to wear over jeans or leggings, ensuring modesty during physical activities like rappelling and climbing. The resulting garments were popular with girls of all faiths.
