Dekorationswut Bracelet, 2013

This is a bracelet. It was designed by Helen Britton. It is dated 2013 and we acquired it in 2016. Its medium is silver, enamel, mirrors, paint. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

The ring and bracelet from Helen Britton's Dekorationswut series exemplify the designer's interest in bridging the gap between popular culture and history. The pieces, constructed with materials associate with popular culture or costume jewelry, are infused with a sense of historicism. This permits the works to celebrate the popular while questioning societal values.
