Botanica VI (Nepenthes Villosa) Vase, 2011

We have 2 images of Botanica VI (Nepenthes Villosa) Vase, 2011 .

Ovoid shaped vase with a tapered neck and circular mouth. The body of the vase consists of two parts. The interior is composed of bois durci (sycamore wood and egg albumen) which appears like an old cracked and rusted metal. Wrapping around the lower half of the vessel is dewaxed shellac which looks like two tan leather petals that flare out at the edges. Interior and exterior pieces joined in two spots with leather cord and button detail. A hole is pierced through the top of the left petal from which a knotted leather cord is threaded through. The loop of cord hangs down from the vase and is attached to a printed paper tag encased in dewaxed shellac and glass. The tag reads: 'Project: Botanica/2011 Name: Nepenthes Villosa Materials: Bois durci – Sycomor wood – Egg albumen, 300g Dewaxed shellac, 300g Beeswax, 24 gr. Label made of: Dewaxed shellac 45g'
