Born in Bristol, England on 2 June 1945. Education: West of England College of Art, Bristol 1962-65; St. Martin's School of Art, London 1966-68. Produced first landscape works in England 1967; in Europe, North and South America, Africa, Nepal, Australia, and Japan since 1969. Long works lightly on earth with great economy of means. His art is concerned with ideas about time, movement, and places with making marks on earth by walking , or by re-arranging things that are found in place such as stones, sticks, peices of brush wood or seaweed. His medium is photography but also makes scupltures.
