At the center of this gate, there is a fountain with Neptune about to use his trident to spear the figure of a dolphin. Next to the dolphin, there is a putto. At the top of each arch of the gate, there is a sizable crown. On the cartouche in the middle of the gate Fleurs de Lis are featured. On either side of the cartouche, there are portaits of helmeted warriors.

Printed in brown and cream with black lettering, the central image of a curvilinear wrought iron motif is balanced on either side by text. The name EDGAR BRANDT dominates the upper section. The text and image are superimposed over curving tan and white designs that suggest flowers.

Presentation drawing for the Comte de Rambuteau: At the fountain base, at the center of the main basin, are six nude figures personifying the Atlantic, the Mediterranean, and four symbols of maritime fishing industries; these figures sit on prows of ships. Above them (and between the basin tier and the crowning cap) are four genii, between each of which is a dolphin (below) and a swan (above) sending jets of water into the basin tier. At the top of the fountain is a mushroom-shaped cap from which water spills to a basin tier, which in turn spills a profusion of water to the larger main basin at ground level. At the perifery of the fountain are nereid figures, each holding a fish which spouts a jet backwards towards the center of the fountain.

Large, white letters spelling "STREET SCENE" are folded into a staggered, staircase formation, which extends diagonally from the poster's lower right corner to its left edge. The letters seem to be three-dimensional, and their placement gives the black background the appearance of depth. Above them. the word "châtelet" is broken into three vertical rows in small white type. To the right, two narrow columns of smaller white text give details about the opera. White text in the top right reads "Un opera americain de Kurt Weill."

The right half of an archival 1913 photograph of Chicago by J.W. Taylor, from the collection of The Art Institute of Chicago’s Burnham Library, is tipped to the left to suggest the receding streets of the city. In a contrasting movement, the word "Chicago," in the Musee d'Orsay's official Waldbaum font and aligned with the architecture, begins in the distance and looms forward wrapping around the corner of the skyscraper-filled street, ending with a large “O,” perhaps alluding to the “O” of Orsay.

Description: vertical rectangle; four scenes from the story of "Don Quixote," by Miguel de Cervantes; Don Quixote's combat with a wild boar (lower center); Sampson Carrasco, surnamed Knight of the Mirrors, van- quished by Don Quixote, is ordered to prostrate himself before Duclina del Toboso (left); Dulcina's party (upper center); Don Quixote demon- strating his affection for Dulcina (right). Another version of this design was manufactured c. 1785, by Gorgerat of Nantes (trial proof l898-21-17B). This subject was repeated in 1813 by Hem for Oberkampf.

The other designs in the series include Rocaille (Rock Garden); Hommage Champêtre (Pastorale); and Léda (Leda and the Swan), all etched by Claude Duflos; and Triomphe de Pomone (Triumph of Pomona) etched by Charles Nicolas Cochin the Younger. Shell motif at top. Three putti grasping at berries in the upper portion of the design, to the right of a herm in the personification of Priapus, protector of orchards and gardens, which is at left. Cypress trees at right. Two putti pulling a goat on top of stairs and other putti both helping with the goat and holding berries. Panel framed with leaves, branches and berries.
