This band is edged by narrow borders of similar design. Reproduced from old paper formerly on the walls of the drawing room in the Jumel Mansion in New York, NY. This pattern is inspired from an early 18th century chintz printed in India and so is a typical Queen Anne design. Small clusters of gay flowers, all on a small scale, are scattered over the entire surface. Each floral piece has a pin-pointed area immediately around it, intervening space is plain. It is definitely a design popular in England in 1700-15 and the original chintz probably came from the Coromandel coast. Printed on reverse: Birge, Waterfast, 2932A, Sidewall, Glaze-tek".
