In center of cloth is a large green, yellow and gray medallion with radiating spokes ending in Grecian palmettes. At one side, a yellow and brown laurel border, at the other, a Greek key pattern. Band of dentilling at top edge, adjoining a foliate band over a narrow band of dentilling. Center band of border is flocked and contains six-pointed stars spaced 5 1/4 inches apart. Lower edge of border contains bead-and-reel strip and vague traces of egg-and-dart design. Printed in brown flock, and white on pale orange ground.

Against a striped background pattern, wide band of this two-band border design contains an oval escutcheon alternating with a cartouche which is formed by scalloped acanthus-leaf frame. Cartouche contains stemmed acorns flanking a rosette. The narrow band consists of classically-inspired acanthus cups enclosing half-hidden egg shapes. Bottom edge is dentilled.

Consists of a floral band in thinly-printed pigment. Assorted flowers and foliage form a continuous frieze above a band of multi-colored leaf forms enclosed in curl brackets and dots. Reminiscent of India-chintz style patterns. Printed in pinks, blues, yellow, greens, black and white over a cream ground.

The top and bottom bands edging the design consist of lozenge-and-reverse-"S" pattern. These border the center of the strip which contains geometric shapes formed by six-line ribbon stripes criss-crossing at diamond-shaped motif. Geometric shape encloses row of stylized flowers and leaves. Diamond shape encloses daisy-like flower. Printed in orange, white, gray and deep turquoise on black ground.

a) Obverse: A mythological scene of three classic figures in grisaille representing a bacchic scene, Youth with a thyrus holding up Bacchus whose fallen empty drinking cup is on the ground. Maenade with a lyre is laughing at him. At top is an applied border simulating a draped fabric, edged top and bottom with lace, and held up by a leaf motif. At bottom is a border simulating marble. b) Reverse: A Directoire design of alternating geometric squares with rosettes. Between are figures of children at play done in grisaille. At bottom is a wide border simulating marble. Green, amber, black and white on gray field.
