Square of printed cotton with twisted fringe on two warp ends. Checkerboard design in dark reddish-brown and tan with brown crackle effect. The lighter squares contain a brown ring in an irregular square; the brown squares contain a shield-like form. Strings of beads run throughout the design.

Half-drop repeat of a swagged pillar topped with three feather plumes. A garland of flowers wrapped around the top of the draped pillar forming a base for the plumes. The trailing ends of the garland frame the motif and by shading create a vertical curve. Predominantly rose and purple and ivory on a gray background.

Panel of natural-colored linen printed in a multicolored design of interlacing enframements enclosing flowers. The design is taken from the painted rooms at Cornmarket Street, Oxford, which was decorated circa 1550. Colors are green, red, yellow, dark and light brown, and blue.

Sample of fabric used at Coronation of King George VI and Elizabeth of England, May 12, 1937. Gold background formed by extra wefts of one flat strip of gilt tinsel and three wefts of gold-colored silk. Design in blue mercerized cotton in satin weave. Great swinging bands form ogives with crown at lower point and Tudor rose at upper point. Each ogive encloses a stiffly symmetrical arrangement of central stem, fleurs-de-lys, and oak leaves, topped by Tudor rose. Extra warp of gold-colored silk ties down the gold wefts in twill with diagonals running from lower right to upper left. Functional weft of unbleached linen (?). Both selvages present.
