Group of five figures, either unclothed or partially clad, dancing around seated figure of Justice, holding scales. Thatched hut in background. This scene is enclosed in a square diamond shape, framed by red, white & blue ribbon. At top and bottom edge of diamond is a narrow brown band of oak leaves and acorns. The bands are wrapped with the red, white and blue ribbon. Alternating with the scene of Justice are fasces and a Phrygian cap, wrapped in a banner reading: "Liberte, Egalite, Fraternite".

Part of a border, probably for a dress, with a main section composed of vertical lancet leaves alternating with a floral sprig. Every third sprig is the stem for a large exotic flower reaching up into the field. Narrow lower band a repeat of small rosettes and short bands. Colors are predominantly green, tan and brown on a natural linen ground.

The primary design consists of an acanthus rinceau punctuated by daffodil-like flowers and interspersed with clusters of small conventional flowers and maple leaves. Beneath this band, a narrow foliate edging alternates rosettes with acanthus-derived motifs.

Each cartouche has eight points alternating between palmettes and rosettes/acanthus leaves.
