This Soviet film poster for the German 1927 movie "Die Symphonie der Grossstadt" ["Symphony of a Metropolis"], depicts a mechanical man composed of a head with a movie camera for one eye, a watch on his neck, with one arm typing on a typewriter and the other arm in the form of a pen. This figure is placed in front of a flat and tilted skyscraper. The title of the film, in red, runs diagonally along the lower edge while the movie credits in white parallel the diagonal building.

In the left half of the poster five human figures are depicted waist-length standing on a tribune decorated with flowers. Two male figures in the foreground are wearing green military uniforms of high-rank officers adorned with medals, orders, golden buttons, and shoulder-straps. One is pressing his right hand to his chest, the other extends his left hand to the right pointing to military aircrafts in the sky. On the far right, a teenage pioneer in a grey shirt and a piece of red cloth tied around his neck is clapping his hands. On the left, two male heads are shown over the shoulders of the officer. One is wearing a green military cap, the other, a brown civic cap. A fragment of a light-pink tower with red banners attached to it is shown behind this group of people. On the lower right, a landing field for parachute jumpers is depicted with a river landscape in the background. A group of parachute jumpers is descending from above. One of them, on extreme right, has landed.

Imprinted in black and orange in Russian across top edge of poster: Window TASS No. 1288. Below, the line imprinted in black in Russian reads: "To the Heroes of the Vast Skies!"

Imprinted in black across the bottom of poster a poem in Russian:
