This is a Print. It was designed by George Jones and engraved by S. Springsguth Jr. It is dated 1816 and we acquired it in 1977. Its medium is etching, hand colored. It is a part of the Drawings, Prints, and Graphic Design department.
John Scott opened the Sans Pareil Theater in the Strand in 1806 in order to present his daughter in her one-woman shows. He sold the theater in 1819, and it was renamed the Adelphi; although rebuilt, the theater still stands today.
It is credited Gift of Mr. and Mrs. Richard B. Freund.
