Vest (Japan)

This is a Vest. It is dated late 18th century and we acquired it in 1968. Its medium is silk, indigo and its technique is stencil-applied rice resist, indigo dyed (katazome) on plain weave. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was donated by Mrs. Sidney Cardozo. It is credited Gift of Mrs. Sidney Cardozo.
