Sampler (Mexico)

This is a Sampler. It is dated late 17th–early 18th century and we acquired it in 1970. Its medium is linen, cotton and its technique is embroidery using satin, padded satin, overcast cord, and chain knot; withdrawn element work with overcasting, looping, interlacing, back, stem, buttonhole, satin and others; cut work with overcast edges. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was bequest of Emily Coe Stowell. It is credited Bequest of Emily Coe Stowell from the Coe Collection.
