Chintz Fragments (India), 18th century
This is a Chintz fragments. It is dated 18th century and we acquired it in 1973. Its medium is cotton and its technique is mordants for reds, purples, black and browns applied by pen and brush (sometimes over resist); blue applied over resist; yellow applied over blue (chintz) on plain weave.
