Pearl Piercing Ring, from Gold Vein Fall / Winter 2014 collection
This is a Pearl piercing ring. It was designed by Delfina Delettrez.
This object is not part of the Cooper Hewitt's permanent collection. It was able to spend time at the museum on loan from Delfina Delettrez as part of Beauty—Cooper Hewitt Design Triennial.
This piercing ring features a large, black pearl on one side counterbalanced by a small, opalescent pearl on the other. These elements appear to float on the wearer’s body, owing to the ring’s open construction. A small diamond is inset into the top of the black pearl. This combination of small, medium, and large elements asymmetrically arranged creates interest from a simple grouping of materials. Delettrez is a fourth-generation member of the Fendi family.
It is credited Courtesy of Delfina Delettrez.
