Nancy Skolos first attended the University of Cincinnati where she was interested in industrial design; after two years was accepted into the Cranbrook Academy of Art where she earned her BFA. She also received an MFA from Yale. Skolos and husband Tom Wedell opened a practice and together have produced a new vocabulary of design that marries technology with graphic design and photography. In the 1980s, Skolos’s work was featured in the book New American Design, she won awards, and was named an AIGA fellow. Today she is department head of the Graphic Design Department at RISD.
