c. 1970's - Studied graphic design, London College of Printing.
Early 1980's - Became known for his record cover designs.
1980's - Art Director, Fetish. Began experimenting with combining visual and architectural elements in his designs, culminating in his design of "The Face" magazine (1981-86). Began designing his own typefaces.
1987-1990 - Designer, Arena. Experimented with minimalist, non-decorative typography, before returning to his established typographical style, now produced with the aid of computers.
1987 - Founded The Studio. Clients have included the Haus der Kulturen der Welt (Berlin), Greenpeace, the Bigi and Parco companies (Japan), and the Dutch Postal Service.
Since the 1990's, Brody has focused on electronic communications design, while remaining active as a typographer.
Founder and Partner, FontShop International (Berlin) and FontWorks (London). Initiator, FUSE, a regularly published collection of experimental typeface and posters in typography and graphic design.
Broday's original typeface designs include: Autotrace, Blur, Brody Originals Pack, Dirty Faces 1, 2 and 3, Dome, Gothic, Harlem, Pop, Tokyo, World, etc.
