Blinky Palermo

Born in Leipzig on 23 June 1943 as Peter Schwarze. He became Peter Heisterkamp after adoption. He assumed Palermo as pseudonym from Mafia boxing-promoter Blinky Palermo, Düsseldorf, 1964. Education: Werkkunstschule, Münster, 1961-61; under Bruno Goller and Joseph Beuys, Kunstakademdie, Düsseldorf 1962-1967. Known primarily as painter in Düsseldorf from 1964 to 1969.
