In 1978 Blaisse began working in the Applied Arts department at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. In 1987 while freelancing, she became interested textiles, interior design, and landscape. In 1991, she founded a studio, Inside Outside, where she focuses on the design of interiors and exteriors, including gardens and landscapes. Blaisse has had several important state commissions around the world, including gardens, curtains and carpets for Seattle Central Library, curtains for Cornel University’s Auditorium, and private residences, among others.
