A.VE.M was founded in 1932 by Antonio Ferro and his son Edidio with the glass masters Emilo Nason, Galiano Ferro and Giulio Radi. In 1937 Emilio Nason’s son Aldo joined the firm as a glassblower. The firm worked with the most innovative techniques of Venetian glass and during the 1930s produced lightweight blown pieces. In 1939 Giulio Radi was named artistic director. Radi pioneered new techniques that focused on the reactions of oxides with glass and the production of polychrome pieces with gold and silver leaf.
