Hiroyuki Shindo
Japanese textile artist, Hiroyuki Shindo (b. 1941), has been enraptured by the colors achieved from natural indigo, and as a young man he began to work with indigo dyeing in the hope of reviving and transforming this almost lost art in Japan. Working in his studio and farmhouse in the mountains north of Kyoto, he produces textiles by follows natural indigo dyeing techniques.
