Jose Ortega

BFA, School of Visual Arts. Designed mosaic mural: Una Raza, Un Mundo (One Race, One World), consisting of seven panels, under the auspices of MTA Arts for Transit, 1996. Located in waiting areas and along platforms, #2 and #5 subway train lines, 3rd Avenue/149th St. The work draws on Pre-Columbian and African sources and reflects the diversity of the East Morrisania (Bronx) neighborhood of the station. (Source:bronxart.lehman.cuny website) Featured in magazines, including Graphis and Advertising Age. Has also designed textiles.
