Within the glazed wooded frame which is crested with pierced scrollings and foliations is enclosed a quill-work composition of scrolls and flowers, roses, tulips, carnations, etc. in a vase. A siler bracket at the base receives the S-curved arm which terminates in candle-holder and drip pan.

A large and rare example of Van de Velde's only poster design, drawn in 1898 for the Tropon food company as part of a comprehensive design program that appeared on packages of powdered egg whites to advertisements and the company's stationary. This sinuous, abstracted design is one of the most important works of Van de Velde's career and an icon of the Art Nouveau style.

A verse and inscription in the center are surrounded by a symmetrical arrangement of trees, flowering trees, fruit baskets, and birdbaths. With a strawberry vine border.

Tapestry medallion of very fine weave with blue and tan figures on a red ground. Two confronted horsemen flank a tree; they wear a green and blue tunic, respectively, and carry swords and shields rimmed with pearl bands and their cloaks stream out behind them. Above the horsemen, a pair of horizontal branches terminating in heart-shaped leaves support a pair of confronted animals, heads reversed. A human head in the field under each horseman. The inner border contains vegetal motifs, including heart-shaped flowers and trefoils. Inner and outer degraded "pearl" borders.
