Light, Skin vs G-Star Tension
This is a Light. It was designed by Pepe Heykoop.
This object is not part of the Cooper Hewitt's permanent collection. It has been able to spend time at the museum on loan from Pepe Heykoop.
This light uses a random collection of elements—lamps, denim, and a melting pot—to create an object unlike anything that we might think of as a light. The discarded elements that make up the structural base are given a new identity by being wrapped in denim, while the individual lamps are connected in a way that creates a new object. The pieces are held by angular supports that provide a precarious but balanced appearance.
It is credited Courtesy of Pepe Heykoop.
