This is a book page of a four-quadrant rectangle. There are four feather samples attached, the text above reading 'ostrich feather dyeing.' In each quadrant there is a sample of a few feathers attached to each other. Each group has an assigned color name: the gray is called slate, the blue gendarme blue, white sample is felt drab, and brown is named garnet.

The left page of a tall and narrow open book, showing a printed illustration of fifteen unique bird heads, arranged in five rows of three. The birds are a mix of types, including a speckled brown falcon with a large eye and a hooked black beak; a toucan with a black head, orange feathers around its eye, and a large, long serrated white and yellow beak; a yellow-orange bird with a goggle eye, long pointed beak, and a tall crest of black-and-white tipped feathers; a woodpecker with a red-and-black head, light green throat, and open, pointed beak; a white spoonbill with a long, golden yellow bill, wide and round at the end; a black-and-white avocet, a shorebird, with a slender, upward-curved black bill; a dark green merganser, a duck, with a round, pink eye and open, toothy pink beak. The birds are labelled with italic numbers pointing at various features: beaks, feathers, eyes. 'Pl. 1' is printed in italics in the top right corner; 'Pub: by Geo: Graves, June, 1817.' is printed in small italics along the bottom edge.

This is a brown falcon hood. The front, top, and back of the hood is comprised of dark brown leather decorated along its edges with bands of stamped circles bordered on either side by rows of tooled dots. The sides of the hood are made of a faded red velvet attached to the leather with a similar faded red silk stitching. The visible side panel are a group of five decorative embroidered feathers arranged in a fan shape. The embroidery is done in with a silver metallic yarn that has tarnished, muting its color. Metallic beads have been affixed along the edge of the panel. On top of the hood, emerging from the tooled leather is a decorative tassel of faded red silk. It is tightly bough at the bottom by a tarnished silver metallic yarn. A poof of silk emerges from the top of the column of wrapped metallic yarn. The front of the hood has a slit in the leather with a leather tab for fastening.

This large rectangular sidewall is a multi-color print of realistically-illustrated two birds among detailed flowers and branches. Whimsically arranged, curving, floral branches and large floral vegetation frame a large mult-colored parrot, and another bird perched in the bottom left corner, about to take flight. Pink cherry blossoms are arranged with other pink and white flowers, surrounded by lined, curving turquoise and yellow leaves. The brightly colored birds and foliage stand against a dark, navy blue background in complementary contrast.

A porcelain allegorical female figure of 'America', sitting across the back of a dark green alligator or crocodile. The figure's skin is porcelain-white, with touches of pink on her extremities, and her facial features painted in. Her dark brown hair is loose over her shoulders. Her head is turned to our left, gazing toward the parrot that perches on her uplifted right hand. The parrot is white, with green, red, and yellow head and wings, and a dark beak. 'America' holds a large, spiraling white cornucopia filled with various colored fruits in her left arm. She wears a headdress, cape, and low-slung short skirt of bright multicolored feathers, painted in yellow, orangey red, teal green, blue, and purple. She wears a jeweled gold belt around her bare waist and pearl-like garters below her knees. The alligator or crocodile faces right, red toothy mouth opened wide, large red eye looking back at its rider. Its stout legs stand on a white base sprinkled with multicolor flowers and green leaves.

This is a rectangular bird cage. The cage itself comprises of light brown, bamboo bars. Along the sides two rectangular wooden strips—one at about center and the other just below the top of the cage—keep the bamboo bars in place. The top of the cage has two four wooden strips creating three bands of bamboo bars above. At the nearest end of the bird cage, is a white ovoid strip, possibly used to lift the door to the cage. A second smaller strip of white, possibly to affix a bowl. The base of cage is comprised of simple wooden panels. The sides of the base panels come up on the interior of the cage creating a basin.

This necklace is made of silver, covered with dense, overlapping rows of hammered, flattened feather-like steel nails. There is a row of small, gold pod forms along inner edge, and for the clasp, it is large and covered by roughly square pale rose mother-of-pearl with gold fastenings. Although made of metal, the necklace gives the appearance of dark, slender feathers, with the inner collar dense with dark gold clasps, where the pods and steel nails are attached.

Thrown porcelain bowl. From narrow (4.3 cm diameter) circular foot, body flares upward and outward at extreme angle. Upper edge cut with four wing-like notches. Overall surface smooth, with modulations. Exterior and interior with semi-matte black glaze; foot ring glazed orange-brown outside.

The sharp, upper part of the hunting knife is a thin and light wood. The sides meet at a sharp point, the left side is curved and the right side is straight. There is a slight inclination where the blade meets the handle. The handle is thicker than the rest of the knife and has an indented curve, allowing for a comfortable grip.

Balsa wood hunting knife with streaks of dark brown wood grain. The handle is carved in an oblong shape. There is a slight diagonal inclination at the mid point of the knife to identify the seperation of the handle from the blade. A straight and curved edge meet at a sharp point to form a blade.

This necklace is made of different patterened, colored, and shaped feathers. The feathers are laid atop of each other in a circle with no distinguishing jewelery parts. Among them are feathers with brown and white feathers, striped feathers, brown to cream color feathers, solid white feathers, the only non-neutral feather being turquoise blue and gray.

This chunky bangle is 3D printed in smooth, creamy-white nylon plastic with a soft sheen, like sculpted marble. The wrist opening is a soft teardrop shape, with the point facing up. Around the outside of the bracelet are three or four overlapping layers of feathers, like a wing. The feathers are smooth, with rounded, tapering tips. The feathers are longer at the top of the bracelet and gradually grow shorter toward the bottom. The inside of the bracelet is smooth and unsculpted.

This engraved print on slightly discolored cream paper shows a frenetic ostrich hunt, with horseback riders and hunting dogs chasing the fleeing birds. The scene is rendered in hatched and crosshatched lines, dark and pronounced in the foreground, fading out in the background to suggest distance. The scene takes place in an open field, ringed with trees. On a rocky outcropping in the foreground, at center, are a rearing horse and muscled rider armed with a spear, turned with his back toward us to face a panicked ostrich with three baying dogs at its feet. The ostrich's long neck is crooked, head turned so its round goggle eye can look back at the rider, beak open in a cry. Its fluffy wings are slightly raised as it steps away on what appear to be cloven hooves, like a cow's. The rider's long spear is gripped in his right hand, angled toward the ostrich. He sports a long mustache, a turban, and a short belted tunic, hem rippling from the motion of his horse. The dogs surround the ostrich: one crouches under the horse's raised hooves while two more leap at the ostrich from behind, sharp-toothed mouths open. Flanking this central conflict are two more spear-wielding riders, slightly further back in space. The mayhem continues in the background, where riders and dogs appear to be herding ostriches toward a ditch crossing the glade. On the far side of the ditch are low hills with trees, and a small hilltop tower to the right. Italic text in the bottom left of the picture reads 'Iohannes Stradanus inuentor'; inscribed below the picture is 'Strution insequitur celeri gens Maura molosso, 25 Et Galeis plumas aptat, gestamen honorum.'.

An engraved print in dark ink on cream-colored paper. The scene is rendered in hatched and crosshatched lines, dark and pronounced in the foreground, fading out in the background to suggest distance. Standing at center left is a European man, holding a flagstaff topped with a cross and a wheel-shaped navigational device, possibly a mariner's astrolabe. He wears a flowing robe over his armor and sword belt. He faces an indigenous American woman at center right, sitting up on a netted hammock stretched between two trees. Her right arm reaches toward the man as her left leg swings toward the ground. She wears a feathered cap and loincloth. Behind this scene, to the left, is the ocean; to the right is a rocky landscape with indigenous people, animals, and trees. On the rocky cliff behind the man is the prow of a boat, pulled ashore; a ship with full-bellied sails floats in the harbor beyond. To the right of the woman are various animals: an anteater among the foreground plants, a monkey-like creature in the hammock tree, and two ambiguous four-legged animals in the distance. On the hill behind the man and woman, at the center of the picture, are a group of nude people. One woman turns a spitted human leg in a large fire; another spitted leg lies nearby. Below the feet of the European man is small italic text: 'Ioan. Stradanus inuent. Theodor Galle sculp. Phls Galle excud.'. Below the picture plane is more text: 'AMERICA. Americen Americus retexit, & Semel vocauit inde semper excitam.'.

Two singular, painted bird wings with multi-colored feathers on a black ground. One side of a single pair of wings, the top wing consists of yellow, brown, pale pink, pale blue, and white. The bottom wing contains the colors pink, blue, yellow, brown, white, and black. Although these are realistically painted, the colors and present brush strokes comprise casual but mindful highlights, detail, and shadow.
