Cope Hood (Spain)

This is a Cope hood. It is dated 17th century. Its medium is silk, metallic thread and its technique is lampas (two interconnected structures: 4&1 satin plus 2/2 twill; metallic wefts bound on the front in 1/3 twill by the twill warp). It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was donated by Sarah Cooper Hewitt and Eleanor Garnier Hewitt. It is credited Gift of Eleanor and Sarah Hewitt.
